Events plans are tentative at this time
- 2016 June 03 (Friday) at Tony Gage’s for Reception.
- 2016 June 04 (Saturday) at 1030 for Oak Bay Tea Party Parade.
- 2016 June 04 (Saturday) at 1830 for Dinner.
Plans are coming together for our 50th Reunion to be held on June 3 and 4, 2016. In our August e-mail, we informed you that Tony Gage will be hosting a Mix and Mingle Event for grads (no partners) at his Cadboro Bay home on June 3rd. Specific details of this evening will be forthcoming in the coming months, of course, but at this point the cost per graduate will be $20.00 and this nominal fee will include beer, wine or soft drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Tony says he can accommodate up to 200 people. So, the first question to you is “do you think you will attend this June 3rd event?” Please note, we are not asking for your money at this time. We just want an idea of numbers.
On Saturday, June 4th, we are hoping to participate in the Oak Bay Tea Party Parade. Again, details will follow. In the evening, we have a reservation for a Sit Down Dinner (with a no host bar), followed by a fun night of entertainment at the Uplands Golf Course. The golf club dining room can accommodate 180 people (maybe 200 but that is “pushing it”.) Partners are very welcome this evening. Cost will be $60 per person. This is the event we really need “numbers” for. To be frank, what we can plan for entertainment, including music, depends on how many of you are planning to attend. Can you please respond as soon as possible if you plan on attending the Saturday night dinner with or without a partner. Again, we are not asking for your cheques yet nor are you being held to a firm commitment but since some members of the Reunion Committee will be out of town this winter, we really want to get a clear idea of how many of you are interested in these events and proceed accordingly. Our class was large, over 400 of us. We hope that many will attend (50 years is surely worth celebrating!) and if everyone comes we will look for a larger venue but we have to firm up a reservation very quickly.
Also, we still have a number of classmates listed on the site who we cannot locate. Any leads on their whereabouts would be greatly appreciated.
