After graduation I attended Uvic for 5 years to complete my B Ed degree. While there I played soccer for the Vikings. My first teaching appointment was to Kitimat at Mount Elizabeth Secondary School. I returned to Victoria to teach at Shoreline Jr. And then on to Oak bay High. While at Oak Bay I became a vice principal and stayed in administration for the rest of my 34 year teaching career.I also attained my masters degree from the University of Oregon.
I married Terry Neal ( Oak Bay High ) in 1971 and we had 2 children – Aaron who is an architect in Toronto , and Naomi who is a specialist in musical theatre also in Toronto. I am a golf enthusiast and a sailor. Terry and I own a Cal 34 sailboat and are members of RVYC. We spend most of our summers exploring our beautiful coast. Since our retirement from teaching in 2004 we also enjoy travelling south for a month to six weeks in our small RV during the winter. The diving dollar might make a dint in that this year however. We downsized to a newly rebuilt house in Fairfield near the Cook Street Village and are enjoying our retirement.
